AUCTIONS NEW TREND IN REAL ESTATE MARKETING
CanWest News Service | The Vancouver Sun | Saturday, April 08, 2006
Julia Smith of Peak Communicators reports an auction organized by her client, Able Realty Corp., generated a sale price of $699,600 on a piece of property assessed at $582,000.
The waterfront property was held for 50 years by a Fort Langley family and attracted bids from 20 registered participants at the Fort Langley Community Hall last Saturday.
With more than 200 people looking on, auctioneer Dan Bouchard took only 15 minutes to sell the property.
Bouchard and Ken Brookes started Able Realty last year. They enjoyed another over-assessed-price sale last year, with a Deer Lake residence.
"Real estate auctions avoid the annoyance of multiple showing and time spent selling the traditional route," Bouchard told his publicist. "This weekend's auction marks the beginning of a new real estate trend in B.C."
